I am so happy My Little Dumpling popped up on my Instagram explore page. Soup dumplings are one of my favorite foods, so of course I had to check this place out. I like when chefs put their own spin on a dish and try to make it slightly different. The dishes were plated beautifully and are totally Instagramable. If you love dumplings, then I would recommend this place for sure.
Crab and Pork Soup Dumplings – So good. I’ve had crab and pork soup dumplings at other restaurants where the crab flavor overpowers everything in a bad way. This was a great mix of both the crab and pork. The soup was fatty and not too salty. Just how I like it!
French Onion Soup Dumpling – The broth really was a french onion soup with dumplings. The flavors actually went well together.
Coconut Black Rice – It sounded cool which was why I chose to order it. It was the least favorite dish for me. I thought it was extremely sweet and probably should have been a dessert dish instead.
Thai Tamarind Kale and Noodle Slaw – The waiter described this salad as a deconstructed spring roll. Spring rolls are my favorite food, so of course I had to order it. The fish sauce dressing was light and I didn’t feel like my breath was going to be stinky after eating it.
Dirty Thai Iced Coffee – I absolutely loved this version of the Thai iced tea. It’s made of Menotti’s coffee instead of Thai tea, coconut condensed milk instead of the regular condensed milk, and cardamom. It wasn’t too sweet for me, which I love. I would drink every morning if I could!
Another dumpling I tried was the Cheeseburger Dumpling with Lychee Ketchup. I forgot to take a picture of this. My bad! But you’ll see it in my LA video. It was juicy, which is always a plus. I couldn’t taste the lychee in the ketchup though. Would I order this again? Maybe not. I’m not really a burger person to begin with. I’d rather try something different like the Beyond Meat Burger Dumpling (they ran out when I was there).
