Small, but cozy, The Food Shoppe serves authentic creole dishes packed with flavor. It’s a very low key space with just a couple tables and some counter space. My cousin and I went in on a Friday morning around 10:30 and they were already serving lunch, which was great for us. We’re not really breakfast food people anyway.
We ordered the red beans and rice (bottom left), jambalaya (bottom right), and the gumbo bowl (top right), which came with jalapeño cornbread (left). There was so much flavor and it wasn’t overly salty with the cajun sausages. I thought the sausages in the dishes were the best part. We liked how the rice wasn’t over cooked and mushy. The portions are huge, so I recommend ordering small bowls and even sharing that. The staff is friendly and the prices are very reasonable. I’m definitely coming back here the next time I’m in Atlanta.
